Ether 6 conclusions:

Ether 6:22  prophecy that Coriantumr would live to see destruction of his people.  Fought much, bled much, repented—none.

6:72  2 millions destroyed

6:86  preparing for 4 years.

6:92  Lord had ceased striving—had taken word and spirit.

Helaman 5:10 Therefore thus saith the Lord, Because of the hardness of the hearts of the people of the Nephites, except they repent I will take away my word from them, and I will withdraw my Spirit from them, and I will suffer them no longer, and I will turn the hearts of their brethren against them;

6:108 Record hid in manner that Limhi’s people would find (Mosiah 5:64)

Moroni 1

Sometimes do you think we have it rough in our day in the church?

1:2  Every Nephite that will not deny Christ is put to death by Lamanites.  Who are the Lamanites at this time?  4N1:42  They are former Nephite believers.  Not divided by lineage but by rebellion against the word.

Moroni 2,3,4,5

Whose words?  Christ. Gleaned from the records, deemed worthy of inclusion.  Wouldn’t have our monthly communion prayers if it weren’t for Moroni’s ability to be persuaded by God’s spirit. 

Notice a pattern:

2:2  (after you pray) give Holy Ghost  by laying on of hands.  Also see Acts 8:15-18

3:2 (after they had prayed) ordained by laying on of hands. Also see Acts 6:6

4:3,2 (pray first) Communion

5:3 (pray first).  Communion’s purpose is to have God’s spirit to be with you

Why pray first? That God’s spirit may be upon. 

Moroni 6

6:2 Baptism only for those who have claimed a desire to turn from sin., with a determination to serve him to the end. (6;3)

6:4  Only added to the church by baptism.  Acts 2:41, 27 Added to church daily by baptism.  Church existed before Pentecost. Matt 18:17

33  Contrast with Alma 16:234—none in the hearts of the wicked.

Moroni 7 Read this and get to hear a word for word sermon by the great abrider himself—Mormon.

Holy Calling—not referring to salvation, but to priesthood!  2 Time 1:9  World confuses this with salvation calling…it is not.  Paul is referring to his priesthood call.

God’s goal for you--Holy Ghost in the hearts of man. 7:

Moroni 8:

Moroni’s calling verse 1.  What was his office, perhaps?  8:3.  Endurance of  faith on his name.  (same words from Moroni 3, priesthood ordination prayer words.).

Mockery of infant baptism.

Lamanite barbery—remember, these were once believers. 9:11-12, 17, 21
