Gospel is 4 parts: The plan of salvation, the blessings of those who obey, the cursings of those who resist, and the process by which he will bring it all to pass. The process part is foretold and established in COVENANTS. 3 N 10: Commanded to search diligently the words of Isaiah. (Direct Words of Christ) Commanded to search: Mormon 4:27 Those who say that God will not remember His covenant will be hewn down…eternal purposes of the Lord roll on, until all fulfilled. Why: 2 Nephi 8:18 First sentence begins with description of when? (Last days) What does Nephi say about Isaiah? 2 Nephi 11:5-8 (Hard for some, plain to those filled with prophecy, plain to Jews. Nephi writes that in the day that Isaiah’s words are fulfilled, men shall surely know (2 Nephi 11:12) Isaiah sees what will happen to the Jews, as explained by Nephi: (2 Nephi 11:20-28) 1. Isaiah saw (prophetically) the last days, and events leading up to them (2 Nephi 8:18) (Explained 2 Nephi 11:14, 80,116) 2. A virgin shall conceive the Messiah; (2 Nephi 9:27-29) (Explained 2 Nephi 11:34-37) 3. He will eventually rule the world and the world shall finally co-exist in peace; (2 Nephi 9:121-125) 4.
A remnant would break off from Jerusalem, and would
“return.” (2 Nephi 9:102-103) (Isa 10:20-22) (Explained: 2 Nephi 11:20) (Work on this one more…) 5.
The House of Israel will be re-gathered to the lands of
their inheritance according to God’s promises; (2 Nephi 9:126), (2 Nehpi 11:28)
(2 Nephi 12:42) The key explained is
the timing. This (i.e. Zion) happens
only after gospel goes back to Jews in Power. 6. The true gospel shall be made known to the remnants of scattered Israel. They too shall be re-gathered. (2 Nephi 7:13, 2 Nephi 9:127) (Explained 2 Nephi 12:73, 85) Recover His people: · 2 Nephi 5:36 And behold, according to the words of the prophet, the Messiah will set himself again the second time, to recover them; · 2 Nephi 9:126 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea. · 2 Nephi 12:42 But behold, there shall be many at that day, when I shall proceed to do a marvelous work among them, that I may remember my covenants which I have made unto the children of men, that I may set my hand again the second time to recover my people, which are the house of Israel; · 2 Nephi 12:51 Nay; but ye have cursed them, and have hated them, and have not sought to recover them. · Jacob 4:3 And in the day that he shall set his hand again the second time to recover his people, is the day, yea, even the last time, that the servants of the Lord shall go forth in his power, to nourish and prune his vineyard; and after that, the end soon cometh.
